You will be responsible for providing comprehensive accounting consultancy services, to help our customers optimize their accounting practices using Clio’s suite of products. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles along with the needs of legal professionals.What your team does:Our Customer Success team is hyperfocused on providing an exceptional experience to Clio customers. They lean into our values by thriving as a team, approaching situations with optimism and a solutions-oriented, human-centered mindset to help each other and help our customers win.What you’ll work on:Providing consultancy services to Clio’s customers on best accounting and bookkeeping practices tailored to the legal industry, e.g., trust accounting;Elevating customer proficiency by providing targeted training sessions, ensuring best utilization of Clio products to manage accounting needs of the customers;Conducting specialized sessions to share accounting advice with the customers, e.g., how to bucket their expenses, or create different expense profiles;Developing and implementing tailored accounting workflows and processes aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements;Assisting customers to implement accounting systems catered to their needs and support them with transitioning from one system to another;Acting as a subject matter expert for our customers on accounting software integrations and system configurations;Serving as a trusted advisor to clients, offering ongoing support and guidance on accounting related inquiries and challenges;Troubleshooting complex accounting issues and escalations within the context of Clio’s suite of products;Developing and delivering customized training materials, documentation, and resources to support customer ongoing education;Being the catalyst for excellence within the CS teams, strategically upskilling them to a level where they can confidently navigate complex accounting queries;Forging and nurturing customer relationships as a trusted advisor during their adoption journey, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service in every interaction;Continuously assessing, evaluating, and proposing enhancements to accounting services based on customer needs, feedback and sales performance;Aggregating insights and championing customer feedback among internal and external stakeholders to actively improve our product;Collaborating with our Sales team and prospects to position the value of accounting consulting and assist with closing opportunities.What you bring:Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience;2+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience or accounting consultancy experience (preferably worked with legal firm clients);Strong understanding of accounting principles and ability to analyze complex accounting processes;Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality work within project deadlines;Genuine empathy, strong interpersonal skills and ability to make customers feel appreciated and valued;Proactive and self-motivated mindset, constantly thinking outside the box to employ creative solutions where appropriate.Serious bonus points if you have:Canadian or US CPA designation;Experience advising or providing accounting and bookkeeping services to small to medium scale legal businesses;Proficiency in configuring and customizing accounting software solutions and integrations to align with customer requirements;A strong understanding of cloud-based legal technologies together with knowledge of the legal industry and the needs of legal professionals such as trust accounting;Proven experience in accounting system implementations, ideally within the legal software or technology industry;Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify customer preferences;Excellent negotiation, presentation, problem solving, and decision making skills, with the ability to build rapport with the customers;Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while exercising good independent professional judgment.What you will find here:Compensation is one of the main components of Clio’s Total Rewards Program. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time.
