Senior Administrator – Quality (PAS – School of Sport & Exercise Science)

The Department of Professional Administrative Services is responsible for providing professional, efficient administrative services which enable the effective operations of each academic school and thereby contribute to an outstanding student experience. We aim to be a forward thinking, outward looking, professional service department, seeking continuous improvement and innovative, modern approaches to administration. We are both an integral part of the academic schools that we contribute to and are respected colleagues within them, but also part of a wider department which enables collaboration, consistency, and development opportunities. This allows us to continually develop the services we offer within our supportive, friendly culture.

This interesting role will sit within our Professional Administrative Service (PAS) for the School of Sport & Exercise Science. The primary focus of this role will be to provide administrative support to quality assurance processes within the School. This will include providing support to the School’s Quality Coordinator and working closely with the University’s Academic Quality Unit. The successful candidate will work as part of a team and provide support for fellow members of the team when required. As quality assurance is an integral process in universities, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to build a career in higher education administration.

We are looking for an experienced administrator who enjoys a busy working environment, liaising with lots of different colleagues and a varied, complex workload. The ideal candidate would be someone who has excellent attention to detail, thrives on planning ahead, who can build strong working relationships with colleagues and work as a team when required.

What’s in it for you?

  • Annual incremental increase up to £24,144, with the opportunity to progress to £25,285
  • 32 days of leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays and University closure days) rising to 37 total days after 5 years’ service
  • Attractive Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Access to our Staff Retail Benefits Scheme
  • Wellbeing advice and support through our Employee Assistance Programme
  • In-house training and development support
  • A friendly, inclusive and supportive culture and work environment

From 1 August 2023, the salary range for this role will increase to £22,681 – £24,533, with the opportunity to progress to £25,742.

This role will be full time based at our St John’s campus, with some hybrid working a possibility (typically 1-2 days per week). A flexi-time scheme is in operation.

Informal queries about the role should be sent to Richard Tiller (School Manager) via email [email protected] .

We value diversity and wish to promote equality at all levels
