This post presents an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated administrator to work in the Centre for Flexible Electronics E-Textiles (C-FLEET) supporting the E-textiles Network, E-Textiles Conference series and the Team-NANO project. You will support activities related to the network/conference/project, including maintaining the websites and database, organising meetings, workshops and annual conferences, organising network newsletters and dealing with enquiries from the network community.To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant experience and success in similar work in administration.
  • Up-to-date MS Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint.
  • Ability to independently organise activities and events (and attend if required) ensuring all activities and deliverables run efficiently by coordinating diaries, booking venues, setting and communicating programme schedules, liaising with appropriate key stakeholder groups, and managing hospitality and visitor arrangements.
  • Ability to raise requisitions, process invoices and monitor expenditure.
  • Ability to maintain the E-textiles Network and E-Textiles Conference web pages with responsibility for site structures and routine content.
  • Ability to lead the promotion of all events across social media channels, the preparation of project-related media such as email Newsletters, and arrange promotional materials such as leaflets, posters, pens, bags
  • Ability to use own initiative, prioritising a conflicting workload and suggest and implement practical and effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in taking meeting minutes.

The post will be held in the Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton.
