- Support enterprise budgeting and forecasting of the marketing operations and administration spend; interacting with VP’s, brand leads, and marketing team across the marketing portfolio to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Support in the reporting of periodic/quarterly results, as well as ad hoc reporting and presentations to brand managers on a periodic basis
- Support the enterprise marketing teams in financial reporting, planning, analysis, and accounting
- Preparation and ownership of periodic marketing accrual and journal entries
- Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the marketing business unit, such as accounts payable, invoicing, and other transactions.
- Seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company (i.e., support the marketing and finance teams in exploring opportunities to become more efficient and effective with marketing spend)
- Drive process improvement and efficiency across total enterprise marketing (operations and administration)
- Provide insightful information and expectations to marketing team to aid in short-term and long-term decision making
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the marketing finance team
- Ownership of Category billing process to receive funds to offset marketing expenses (i.e., vendor funded programs)
- Communicate with FP&A and other stakeholders marketing results, variances, and other details as required
- Assist with the development of KPI’s and ongoing reporting
- Ad hoc requests as needed
What you bring:
- 1-3 years in a finance role. Retail experience preferred.
- University degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field. CPA/MBA or enrollment in these programs preferred.
- Experience with financial stewardship, process & efficiencies improvement, and strong financial modelling skills
- Strong technical skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to work with large amounts of data
- Experience with SAP is an asset
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear and concise presentations
- The ability to deal with ambiguity and make intelligent assumptions
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships
- Strong personal responsibility, honesty, and integrity
- Ability to work well under pressure and effectively communicate and deal with personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in process design and systems integration considered an asset
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
