It’s an exciting business which helps make the world cleaner, safer and healthier.Purolite is seeking a Senior Applications Scientist who will work within the UK RD&E bioprocessing applications team. The successful candidate will work with the range of bioprocessing chromatography resins. Purolite bioprocess chromatography resins are modern, high-flow resins designed specifically for the purification of monoclonal antibodies. These are used in the treatment of a range of ailments such as cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetes.What’s in it For You:

What you’ll do:
- Make a significant contribution to internal and commercial projects performed within the Life Sciences Application group at Purolite.
- Provide technical ownership in application and theoretical knowledge of chromatography/ downstream purification using Purolite chromatography resins.
- Collaborate with new product development and commercial teams.
- Write technical reports to present internally and externally and will represent Purolite at major conferences.
What you’ll need:
- BSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical engineering, or related subject with industrial experience or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related subject.
- Experience in chromatographic techniques, such as HPLC/UPLC/FPLC (AKTA), analytical techniques, such as UV/Vis, IR, ELISA, and wet chemistry techniques.
- Good understanding of proteins and enzymes.
- Experience in packing chromatography columns at laboratory scale.
- Must be a self-motivated person who is methodical, organized and has excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work both in a team and independently.
- Effective communication and report writing skills are essential as role requires co-ordination of work with peers and customers.
