This is a unique opportunity to contribute to and advance the core technical capabilities of a forward-thinking company at the forefront of geotechnical design and modelling.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage teams in geotechnical and numerical modelling projects.
  • Drive digital innovation in geotechnical analysis and design.
  • Conduct and oversee geotechnical analysis and design, including seismic design for foundations, soil-structure interaction, and seismic response of dams and embankments.
  • Utilize advanced numerical modelling software (e.g., FLAC/FLAC3D, PLAXIS 2D/3D) for complex geotechnical projects.
  • Validate and calibrate numerical models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Manage interdisciplinary projects, ensuring seamless integration of geotechnical numerical analysis.
  • Liaise confidently with clients and engineers across various disciplines.
  • Deliver exemplary written reports and review colleagues’ work to maintain high standards.
  • Travel on short assignments within the UK and overseas as required.

Qualifications:

  • A strong academic background with a relevant engineering degree, ideally complemented by an MSc or PhD.
  • Chartered status in a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive experience in geotechnical analysis and design, with a focus on seismic geotechnical analysis and design.
  • Proven leadership in numerical modelling teams and proficiency with advanced numerical modelling software (e.g., FLAC/FLAC3D, PLAXIS 2D/3D).
  • In-depth understanding of advanced constitutive soil models, parameter selection, and soil-structure interaction.
  • Experience in geotechnical numerical analysis validation and model calibration.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong report writing skills with a track record of managing the delivery of high-quality documents.
  • Valid UK driving licence.

Expected salary

£50000 – 60000 per year
