Job description
You will be an experienced Bioinformatician, with roots in maths and statistics. Exposure to machine learning tools will be advantageous but not a deal breaker. Youll need to be well versed working with NGS data and developing bioinformatics tools for clinical interpretation.This role has a high level of impact, as you will be developing and implementing bioinformatics solutions across the whole product pipeline. Youll need to be a good communicator as you will be collaborating and working closely with multidisciplinary teams.Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing novel mathematical models and statistical analyses for variant calling and detection of minimal residual disease
- Develop machine learning methods for improving probe efficiency and selectivity.
- Providing insights into data that improves assay performance.
- Develop high quality code.
Ideally You Will Have
- PhD in computational biology/bioinformatics/other related field
- Post doc or industry experience post PhD
- Strong background in maths and statistics
- Experience working within Oncology
- Experience processing, analysing and interpreting NGS data
- Exposure to ML tools and frameworks eg Tensorflow, Pytorch
- Proficient programming skills (Ideally Python)
- Familiarity with standard software engineering tools (Jira, Git, CI/CD)
- Experience using workflow management systems (Nextflow, Snakemake)
- Exposure to Cloud environments (Ideally AWS)
