As Senior Business Performance Analyst, you will be part of the Product & Procurement department. You support the Direct Category Management Team (DCM) in detecting, analysing and concretely elaborating the department’s reporting needs and tools.

In addition, you are also responsible for the analysis of existing reports, detecting irregularities and developing improvement proposals/projects.

Initially you will be expected to support DCM in analysing the business performance by extracting and elaborating data, insights, facts & figures both from a quantitative and a qualitative perspective. Once you will the master, ideally you will be able to deep dive and interpret the data to identify business opportunities and risks, offer valuable insights and proactively come up with proposals and make suggestions to help boost the business.

Your role and responsibilities

Your responsibilities include the following specific tasks:

  • You extract, compile, elaborate, and present in a structured and clear manner data, insights, and facts & figures to different audiences, starting from the DCM Team;
  • You master internal tools, interacting with different departments to maintain, develop, modify and improve tools and reports, aiming to enhance their quality and impact;
  • In autonomy or in collaboration with other departments (e.g. BI, MID, CX) you will also compile, elaborate and present external data and insights, such as market and competition, providing analysis and suggestions;
  • You will be the to-go person for the DCM Team for data and insights, as well as their tools;
  • You will help the DCM team to prepare business cases and elaborate scenarios to help the go/no-go decision making with tools and metrics such as GMROI;
  • You question and evaluate the current working methods, reporting tools and the applied internal procedures in order to formulate improvement proposals;
  • You draw up detailed ad hoc reports in order to provide the DCM with the basis for making objective and fact-based decisions, both in the short and long term;
  • You analyse existing reports in order to detect irregularities in relation to the objectives of the Materials department and take appropriate action;
  • You guide end users in the implementation of new reporting tools;
  • You share your knowledge with the Business Performance Analysts;
  • You participate and provide support in various projects.

Your profile

  • You have obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Economics, Data Science, Finance, Commercial Engineering or Commercial Science in an analytical or financial specialisation;
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience;
  • You are passionate about data analysis, love working with tools and figures, and you get energy by providing data and insights to your team;
  • You have very good logical reasoning skills and are analytically strong, being able to see the big picture;
  • You have a thorough knowledge of Excel and you know or are willing to know in depth Tableau. Knowledge of packages is an asset;
  • Experience with project work is an added value;
  • You speak English fluently. A good knowledge of Dutch and/or French is an advantage, but not a requirement;
  • You are meticulous and accurate.
