Some prior experience in glaucoma for this postis essential. The post also involves a componentworking in eye emergency. The post has no on call commitment.About usThe glaucoma team see over 14,000 appointments a year providing a high quality service. The Trust provides health services to a diverse community.Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesClinicalThe post holder will, together with colleagues, be responsible for the provision of ophthalmic services to the Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust to include:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of patients in the glaucoma clinics.
  • Treatment of patients by the use of laser procedures.
  • To cover eye emergency when required.
  • To cover minor ops or theatre lists when required.

TrainingAll medical staff will be expected to participate & contribute to the training and support of doctors in training.Clinical GovernanceAll medical and dental staff are expected to take part in clinical governance activity, including clinical audit, clinical guideline and protocol development and clinical risk management.
