Job summaryOXFORD UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST AND CHILDREN ACUTE TRANSPORT SERVICESThe Paediatric Critical Care (PCC) departments at Oxford University Hospital (OUH), Oxford and Children Acute Transport Services (CATS), London, UK invite applications for Paediatric Critical Care and Retrieval Fellow posts.Clinical Fellow (ST6-ST8) posts in Paediatric Intensive Care and Paediatric Retrieval MedicinePosts commencing from August/September 2025Main duties of the jobThis post would be suitable for an enthusiastic candidate from a Paediatric or Anaesthetic, Adult Intensive Care and Emergency medicine background interested in training in Paediatric Intensive Care according to the standards of the Intercollegiate Training Committee in Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine (ICTPICM). The appointee will work full time within Critical Care Services at the JRH. The main duties would be spread between the SORT retrieval service, the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and the High Dependency service. Our Intensive Care fellows are under the supervision of a team of consultants in Paediatric Critical Care. It is expected that a successful applicant will take part in an agreed project such as outreach education, research or quality improvement. Applications from candidates with an academic interest are encouraged and, if successful, there would be opportunities to adapt the basic job plan accordingly.All posts will involve 12 months between the OUH PCC and Southampton Oxford Retrieval Team (SORT- Oxford branch). • Ventilation – standard techniques, BIPAP pressure and volume controlled modes, pressure release ventilation, high frequency oscillation and Non-invasive techniques.
• Neuro intensive care
• Advanced renal support
• Application of Brain Death Criteria
• Talking to Parents in Critical situations
• Stabilisation and Transport of sick infants and children

• A minimum of 4 years training in paediatrics / anaesthetics / ICM

• Higher medical degree
• FRCA or MRCPCH or equivalent

• A minimum of one year at a registrar level
• Experience of teaching and presenting
• Experience of audit activities

Desirable

• Previous paediatric intensive care & critical care transport experience
