Responsibilities and Impact:

A key role in the Canada Commercial Sales Team focused on growing our partnerships with our Upstream Canadian clients located in the Calgary area.

Build and nurture relationships with S&P Commodity Insights customers to provide solutions that improve our customer operations and insights.

Working as the lead on your set accounts you will work with your colleagues as part of a team building an account strategy that results in high retention and growth of our business.

Multi-faceted position, dealing with all stages of the sales and renewal process. The role is critical to the entire customer journey and will be working with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally.

Develop an exceptional understanding of, and stay current on, the S&P Global Commodity Insights products and functionality and their application to specific clients/job functions.

Contribute to the business strategy through a deep understanding of industry requirements, market trends, and client requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

Degree with 7+ years of successful sales experience managing major or complex accounts in the Canadian upstream industry/energy markets.

Consultative sales and negotiation skills experience, possess high integrity and is proficient in all phases of the selling cycle from need creation, proposal preparation, and negotiation to deal closure.

Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills that add value to the relationship by distilling, summarizing, interpreting, and communicating information to facilitate its usefulness.

Strong planning and organization skills and ability to prioritize.

Some travel is required.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Degree with 7+ years of successful sales experience managing major or complex accounts in the Canadian energy markets.

Proven leadership in managing multi-national global and/or strategic accounts, multi-cultural awareness, and regional experience is preferred.

Understanding of Canadian energy markets – Oil & Gas, Power, Agriculture, Metals, Renewable

Experience working with the major Canadian energy companies in the Calgary area.

Strong planning and organization skills Salesforce/ Equivalent CRM, Work, Excel, and PowerPoint
