The team
The insight & evaluation team is integral to the data, research and content the Energy
Saving Trust produces. The work we do is hugely varied, from calculating the savings that can
be achieved through making energy efficiency changes, to modelling the impact of new
technologies to providing content for energy efficiency training to researching consumers
attitudes towards government policy and assessing the impact that programmes deliver.
The team work individually on projects but also work closely together sharing ideas and working
through complex problems or scenarios ensuring that knowledge sharing, and knowledge
development is at the forefront of everything we do.
Working within the team and at the Energy Saving Trust more broadly will allow you to use your
experience and skills, whilst improving your knowledge and having the space and opportunity to
grow within a friendly, supportive environment.
The role
As part of the investment in our mission we are seeking a senior consultant. This role has been
created to support our strategic objectives of increasing our advice, information and support
services to consumers and small businesses, accelerating our progress towards becoming a
digitally led organisation and growing our impact in England.
Working closely with colleagues in the insight and evaluation team and across the business, you
will lead on collating and reporting the impact of Energy Saving Trust against its objectives.
You will also work with colleagues across the business, to identify and support the delivery of
cost-effective monitoring and evaluation methodologies for new business activity.

As part of our recruitment process, we conduct background checks on all candidates who receive
a conditional offer of employment. The nature of the scheme that we are contracted to work on
with Scottish Government means that we are required to comply with UK Government standards when
carrying out pre-employment checks for new starters. This check is known as the Baseline
Personnel Security Standard (or BPSS) check.
The BPSS checks will include a basic criminal record check (DBS check), verification of
identity, verification of right to work in the UK and your previous 3 years employment history.
Information obtained will only be used for the purposes of assessing your suitability for the
role. Please note that if successful, any offer of employment made will be conditional pending
the successful completion of the BPSS checks.
