Overview:

Join us and make an impact at a dynamic and growing life sciences company. Invicro is currently seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer with strong Python skills to contribute to our company and customer’s needs.  You will work with modern data engineering tools and platforms running in the AWS Cloud.  Your work will be in service to the people who work with in Invicro:  scientists, software developers, study managers, data managers, and all who work to drive our data product and reporting outcomes.

We (and you will) work with life sciences organizations all over the world, including over 100 researchers across Invicro internally, to expand our knowledge of biological systems and tackle major diseases like Cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. Our user base of scientists demands an easy to use, highly technical, and robust data products that you will help design and delivery.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for all phases of implementation within a data engineering (or ETL) pipeline: ingestion,  transformation, standardization, and reporting.
• Instrument automated ingestion of diverse life science (imaging) data sets that present with varying degrees of quality.
• Introduce remediations and improvements into “un-tidy” data within a data engineering pipeline.
• Deliver outcomes defined by the business to deliver value to internal and external customers -users of our Data products and reports.
• Keeping the customer (stakeholder) in mind work with them to present a coherent and consumable data product with a data model specific to the use case at hand.

Qualifications and Skills:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or similar qualification.
• 5+ years of experience using Python to instrument data engineering pipelines with various platforms.
• 2+ years’ experience with AWS Cloud services or similar.
• Demonstrable proficiency with Python and data engineering libraries capabilities.
• Proficiency and understanding of data governance principles and data modeling.
• An understanding of what it means to make data “tidy”:https://vita.had.co.nz/papers/tidy-data.pdf.
• Desire to learn and use latest data engineering capabilities on AWS cloud and other platforms: AWS Glue,  AWS Glue Catalog, AWS, Athena, AWS Redshift, AWS RDS, AWS Step functions, AWS Lambda.
• Expect all transform logic to be written via Python.
