  • Generate single-authored papers, multi-authored papers, study group reports, and other analytical products, including both formal and informal presentations.
  • Contribute to the Center’s larger agenda by participating in the design of the research program, by actively engaging in center-organized events, by providing substantive feedback on the work of others, and by mentoring less-experienced staff.
  • Participate in the work of other organizations on related topics to the extent time and circumstances permit.
  • Represent CGSR and the lab by contributing expertise to projects elsewhere in the lab, at other national security laboratories, at NNSA and DOE, and elsewhere as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q/SCI-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.

  • Expertise working with US allies on deterrence and nuclear issues
  • A track record of significant publications on deterrence and nuclear issues
  • Expert knowledge of deterrence policy challenges in both Europe and the Indo-Pacific
  • Subject matter expertise in current arms control, non-proliferation, and risk reduction challenges both bilateral and multilateral
  • Substantial experience working with classified information on deterrence-related issues
  • Expertise in working with the interagency community and with the scientific and technical communities
  • Experience building multidisciplinary teams to design and execute projects and tasks.
