Job description

NRL are seeking to enhance our clients technical capabilities on a high-profile nuclear project and require recruiting an experienced Senior Engineering Manager. You should have the vision, passion and a strategic technical delivery mindset required to successfully undertake this role. In this critical delivery role, you will be the first point of contact with the client and provide the technical leadership to the project engineering team. This is a permanent position based in Warrington with occasional visits to Reading.You should have experience of working within a regulated industry (preferably nuclear) in a technical delivery role with management responsibility and must be design focused.Role Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in engineering management on high profile projects including the management of multidisciplinary Teams.
  • Experience in effectively managing the design elements of projects on time and on budget with quality, meeting client expectations.
  • Be able to establish and implement an effective engineering management process throughout the lifecycle of projects with the ability to clearly brief and lead the engineering teams.
  • Be able to operate as the main point of contact for AECOM for the technical and engineering aspects of the project.
  • A key team player within an integrated multi-disciplinary project delivery team ensuring a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure that engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices.
  • A results-driven motivated individual with a client focused approach to design and project delivery.
  • Be able to provide estimates and forecasts for engineering resources.
  • Technical quality of deliverables – undertaking checks of design deliverables working with the discipline leads (where required) in accordance with company /project /client procedures and specification/s.
  • Be able to review personal / team budgets and resourcing requirements, to achieve the projects financial and programme targets.
  • Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate apply best practice within the team environment.
  • Able to prepare and deliver technical presentations internally and to clients.
  • Understanding of design principles and ability to apply them.
  • Have a working knowledge of Engineering European and American Standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree, or equivalent, at Masters or PhD level.
  • Chartered in your profession.
  • Able to meet the requirements for full SC security clearance in the UK.
