ResMed is looking for a Senior Cloud FinOps Engineer to join the team! As an hands-on engineer, you will lead technical optimization resulting in cost optimization and efficiency at every step of the SDLC. You will develop tools to ensure ResMed gets the most value out of Cloud & SAAS usage. You will play a crucial role in cultivating a FinOps mindset within the organization.TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIESInnovate and improve financial controls and optimization through automation.Develop and implement internal applications & tools to support ResMed cloud optimization strategy, in partnership with the engineering manager & product manager.Define and implement cloud standards, guidelines, workflows, and best practices to ensure efficiency & consistency across the organization. Lead architectural reviews in the cloud domain to drive optimized architectural decisions.Collaborate with multiple teams (Application Development, Platform, Security, Finance, and Senior Leadership) to modernize software development and leverage containerization.Promote a culture of continuous optimization and ensure optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and utilization by reviewing regularly and optimizing the cloud environment.Evaluate and select solutions (buy vs. build mindset) that align with the organization’s business goals and drivers.Stay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies, vendors, and solutions to facilitate enterprise advancement.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEMinimum:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science (or related field)5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on cloud platforms such as AWS.3+ years of experience in developing cloud-native solutions.Exceptional communication skills (in english), capable of conveying complex concepts to developers, as non-technical stakeholders.Working knowledge of DevOps tools and strategies.Preferred:Previous experience managing containers with EKS.Professional certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect & FinOps foundations.3+ year of experience in deployment / installation of multienvironment solutions, with an automation mindset.MANDATORY SKILLSMinimum:Strong skills in cloud native development like Step function, Lambda, DynamoDB, cloudfront…Solid Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Github actions)Strong skills with back-end technologies (Python scripting, API management, data ingestion)Good skills in using and maintaining dev environment with VSCode, container, WSL, Github.Knowledge of FinOps and DevOps principles.Good understanding of cloud-native principles.Good debugging, testing and problem-solving skills.Solid Experience with Agile software development processes, particularly Scrum and/or Kanban.Preferred:Knowledge of managed services, like Datadog, EKS, Kafka, Snowflake.Skills with Web’s front-end technologies (React, Typescript)PERSONAL SKILLSEagerness to learn and growWillingness to lead effortExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTeam playerJoining us is more than saying “yes” to making the world a healthier place.
