Potential candidates will join our Evaluation and Restoration (ER) division. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team lead by an Area Resource Manager. This Project Manager role is an hybrid based role with limited travel on an as needed basis, e.g., project site kick-off meetings, client meeting etc. Working from home can be accommodated with prior approval from the Area Resource Manager; all of our offices are fully equipped to ensure staff can work with ease from any location. At Arcadis, the work/life balance and career are of utmost concern for our staff.The Project Manager position requires an individual with direct experience in Contaminated Site Projects and Environmental Remediation projects. Individuals should apply if they have direct experience with the coordination and management of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase II ESAs, risk assessments, remediation, as well as a working knowledge of the Record of Site Condition process in Ontario. Using both provincial and federal regulatory frameworks, diligent interpretation of environmental data, the comparison of sample results to applicable standards/guidelines and data QA/QC, along with industry best practices is expected. Individuals with Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Profession Geoscientist (P.Geo.). and/or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) designation in Ontario are preferred.The successful candidate will join a growing office and team to provide project management, technical support, and leadership. The Project Manager will support and mentor intermediate and junior staff and will direct influence on health and safety, team collaboration, high quality work, innovation, efficiency, and focused client relationships. The successful candidate will also work with other like-minded individuals to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations.Role accountabilities:As a Project Manager at Arcadis, you’ll be expected to provide project management on small; large and complex environmental projects including, development and management of scope, schedule, budget, technical resources, project risks evaluation and mitigation, and procurement as well as technical advice, report preparation and senior review. Adhere and support corporate policy and procedures, and maintain and support quality, health and safety, and performance management systems and manage and mentor staff. As part of the ER team, you’ll manage and direct technical tasks and field programs for contaminated site investigations, feasibility studies, remediation design and implementation, hydrogeological studies, monitoring programs.Furthermore, as an experienced manager, you’ll be expected to provide technical expertise in support of ongoing business pursuits and environmental projects in various sectors including; oil and gas; mining; power; infrastructure; brownfields and industrial re-development and government. Be responsible for ensuring that site/client project management (non-technical) objectives are defined and met (i.e., scope, schedule, cost). Prepare, and review reports, work plans, specifications, and proposals; manage technical budgets and provide oversight of intermediate and junior staff work for regulatory compliance and technical accuracy, QA/QC. Contribute to ongoing technical knowledge and innovation initiatives within Arcadis.Key Attributes/Requirements:
- Individuals with working knowledge and experience in environmental compliance and associated guidelines/legislation for provincial and federal requirements including CCME. Direct experience working at contaminated sites such as: industrial facilities, refineries/bulk plants/gas stations, military properties, commercial processing plants, federal government properties, airports, mines, power plants, wind farms and solar facilities. Experience working for clients in industrial, development, and federal and provincial government sectors.
- As a manger, have the proven ability to design and implement field programs; analyze data, write reports, provide quality control and assurance and present results to Clients. This includes experience with responding to Requests for Proposals, Expression of Interests, Statement of Qualifications. Excellence in communication and collaboration skills that facilitate detailed planning, timely decision-making, and efficient implementation is a must.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Willing to travel to project sites and meetings as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Arcadis is seeking an experienced senior manager with 10+ years of direct experience with respect to Contaminated Sites and Site Remediation. Direct experience within the fields of Engineering, Geoscience, and Technology with a focus on Site Investigations, Remediation, Risk Management and Environmental Monitoring.
- Registered and/or Eligible for registration of a P.Eng. or P.Geo. in Ontario is a requirement.
