Welcome Home!We’re more than Canada’s largest independent hardware and building supplies retailer—we’re part of communities across the nation.Driving Retail Excellence Through Financial Strategy!As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for engaging with Dealers, prospective Dealers and Operations to interpret, understand and forecast a range of potential transactions. This role provides valuable information to our Finance and Retail Operations teams on Dealer succession and growth to optimize decision making and drive success. Led by the Manager, FP&A, this opportunity suits an independent self-starter with a proven track record in developing financial models, and a comfort working cross functionally.Ready to make an impact in a new role?   • Engage daily with Dealers, Operations, Lenders, and prospective buyers/sellers with respect to proposed transactions.
  • Read through and understand asset and share sale agreements to provide detailed forecasting with respect to those transactions.
  • Respond to daily Dealer inquiries and support requests for information and financing needs.
  • Collaborate with leaders, Finance team and related stakeholders, providing business insights to grow the business while understanding the opportunities and risks.
  • Develop our data systems and reporting through Excel (and Power BI where possible) in addition to handling large amounts of data constantly.
  • Manage, build, and evolve operational and financial performance models to help achieve accurate and successful Dealer forecasts.
  • Manage the collection and output of Dealer financial data, trends, and insights.
  • Create a reporting package and cadence for HHSL Executive management.

We’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting, with a minimum three to five years’ experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, data analytics and financial statement review/ preparation
  • CPA designation is preferred but relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Highly developed business and financial acumen to drive business performance, embracing change and innovation.
  • Strong financial knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and banking concepts.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (advanced Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence decisions.
  • Proven ability to interact and consult with key-senior decision makers.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to establish credibility with the Dealers and the Retail Operations Teams, to positively impact business performance.
  • Ability to work additional varied hours as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
  • Experience with transaction or buy/sell accounting preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and multi-task changing priorities.
  • The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
