Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst assists in the provision of Financial Services for Thrive Group organizations and fee for service clients as assigned. Assists with the development, coordination and monitoring of the total agency budget. Prepares and monitors internal financial statements and reports. Provides cost reduction recommendations to leadership to enhance financial strength. Assists the Director of Finance to establish accounting controls, and policies and procedures to ensure the security of assets. Guides and supports managers in all aspects of financial management. Prepares complete year-end and audit working papers, ensuring a successful audit process. Guides Thrive Group leadership in the building and monitoring of program and service budgets. Is responsible for promoting a highly engaged, customer-oriented organizational culture.Employment Guide:

  • A degree in Business Administration or Accounting with an accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA) or equivalent.
  • Three years of accounting experience, preferably within a non-profit, social service or health service environment.
  • Proficient working with a variety of data management and accounting software systems, including strong Microsoft Office skills particularly with Excel Intimate knowledge of financial management principles, practices and procedures in accordance with provincial and federal legislation.
  • The Employment Insurance Act; The Income Tax Act and Employment Standards Legislation are required.
  • A demonstrated ability to deal with a diverse range of people is essential.
  • Must be able to think and act strategically and problem-solve effectively.
  • Previous experience in non-profit accounting, including third-party grant accounting, compliance and reporting desirable.
  • Must be able to give and take direction and build strong relationships across multiple disciplines.
  • Must possess superior organizational, communication and written skills; and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
