Over the last five years ULMS has engaged in extensive recruitment of academic and professional services staff, expanding into a state-of-the-art extension adjacent to the Georgian quarter of Liverpool, including a trading room and a marketing suite. The Economics Subject Group is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer on a Teaching & Scholarship (T&S) pathway to contribute to teaching and the pedagogical leadership of our economics programmes. In particular, we are seeking a Senior Lecturer that can also take on the Director of Studies (DoS) role for our BA in Business Economics. While the Senior Lecturer position is a permanent appointment, academic roles, such as the DoS role are for an initial period of 3 years and reviewed annual thereafter.

You should hold a PhD and are expected to have a significant amount of relevant experience of teaching, designing and managing modules and programmes in the above-mentioned subject areas, and a track record in (pedagogical or economic) scholarship. Experience or an interest in teaching in the areas of Sustainability, Environmental or Ecological Economics is desirable although not essential. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills together with the ability and enthusiasm to enhance the student experience. Knowledge of the particular needs of international students would be an advantage. Ability to guide and supervise students┬┐ independent learning is also an important requirement.
