About usThe Dickson Poon School of Law at King’s College London is one of the oldest law schools in England and recognised globally as one of the best law schools in the world. The Dickson Poon School of Law is housed in the East Wing of Somerset House, a Grade One listed building, on the College’s Strand Campus, no more than a couple of minutes’ walk from the Royal Courts of Justice and Inns of Court and midway between Westminster and the City of London.has recently been established to spearhead research that focuses on participatory infrastructure throughout the life of data-reliant tools. As such, the centre brings together expertise that stretches from the humanities to computer science, via law, medicine and education.About the roleThe Dickson Poon School of Law has long recognised the importance of emerging technologies where legal teaching and research is concerned. Technology is now increasingly evident in shaping how law is practised; how legal services are provided, and how legal and regulatory functions are performed.The post holder will exercise world-class academic research and teaching. We are open to the candidate’s field of specialist expertise. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake world-leading research and a deep personal commitment to the delivery of teaching of the highest quality with a particular interest in digital or technology and law.The post holder will help develop and implement a new Digital Law LLM starting in September 2025. This programme is designed to equip legal professionals with the skills and knowledge required to navigate the rapidly evolving data-driven technologies reshaping the legal landscape.This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.About youTo be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:Essential criteria1. PhD, DPhil, JSD, or equivalent experience in Law.2. Strong publication record in Digital or Technology Law. .3. Excellent teaching skills and knowledge of Digital Law.4. Competence with electronic learning platforms and other IT skills.5. Ability to work effectively within a team.6. Bring a proven track record of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.7. A track record of attracting research funding and/or research impact.Desirable criteria1. Professional qualification in law.2. Demonstrated interest in cross-disciplinary work through joint publications and/or workshops and ability to actively engage with relevant computer science literature.3. Experience of successfully undertaking academic administrative roles.4.
