Senior Lecturer in Journalism

Starting salary: £44,414rising annually to £54,421

This is an exciting opportunity to come and work at the Oxford International Centre for Publishing, delivering courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels to a highly international class of students. Ranked second in the 2023 Guardian league table for Journalism, the Centre has an excellent reputation.We are looking for a lecturer in journalism to coordinate the team delivering our Master’s in Journalism. This post would suit an academic working in the field of journalism or a professional who would like to move into teaching and research.

You will be responsible for:

▪        Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules

▪        Coordination of the MA in Journalism

▪        Research and scholarly activity in journalism

▪        Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate projects and dissertations

▪        Supporting and developing consultancy work

▪        Contributing to curriculum development.

You should have:

▪        A degree in a relevant subject

▪        Experience of teaching and/or training

▪        Recent and relevant industry experience in journalism

▪        Commitment to undertake research and consultancy

▪        Excellent teamworking, IT and communication skills.
