About the roleThis non-clinical role is for an experienced medical educator to lead, co-ordinate and continuously improve small group learning across the GKT curriculum, alongside delivery with a range of clinical teaching fellows. With a focus on case-based learning that integrates basic and clinical knowledge and student experience, this educator will take responsibility for small group learning away from the bedside that runs through all MBBS programmes at KCL.This is a full time position, and you will be offered an indefinite contract.About YouTo be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:Essential criteria

  • Educational qualification: FHEA or equivalent
  • PhD qualified in a subject relevant to medical education
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of undergraduate medical education as well as quality assuring medical programmes and in curriculum design
  • Giving high-quality constructive feedback to students
  • Undertaking pedagogical research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting one’s research to appropriate groups
  • Active participation in CPD and associated appraisal of current educational activity, through a relevant scheme
  • Proven knowledge and experience in ungraduated teaching and in integrating basic and clinical learning
  • Ability to work with a wide range of clinical and academic colleagues to facilitate the preparation of module learning and assessment material

Desirable criteria

  • The ability to problem solve and achieve desired results within programme constraints
  • Experience in leading and managing a team and high level communication skills
  • Ability to understand and work within the College regulations for assessment as they pertain to the MBBS curriculum
