We are seeking a Senior Lecturer in Music to join our team in the School of Creative Arts, and to teach across our BA (Hons) Music programme.

You will have the opportunity to support the development of our students across the School’s wider portfolio of BA and MA programmes, as well as the potential to provide a sustained contribution to all aspects of the School’s activities across research, teaching, and academic administration.

We are looking for someone with a strong research track record and the ability to liaise with academic colleagues, students and administrative staff across the School to ensure that the programme runs appropriately and in-line with the University’s expectations for teaching and learning, recruitment, student experience, annual monitoring and graduate identity.

The Music programme balances performance, composition and academic modules with a range of industry-focused, public-facing modules that stimulate engagement with the local music scene, and also link the theoretical and academic study of music with the practical and creative aspects of the discipline. Outside of the main curriculum, we regularly offer students a range of technique classes, professional platforms to develop new work, and opportunities to join our public-facing performance groups and ensembles. We take pride in an ethos of internationalism, interdisciplinarity, and collaboration, and we are committed to supporting diversity.

This post is part of the School of Creative Arts, within the College of Arts. The School currently offers Undergraduate programmes in Dance, Drama & Theatre, Fine Art, Music, Musical Theatre, Creative Writing and Technical Theatre & Stage Management, alongside a suite of M-level programmes and MPhil/PhD opportunities.
