We encourage all our academic staff to explore research opportunities and inspire innovative and new ways to grow and improve our establishment.We are looking for a motivated Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology to join our team and make a significant contribution to the development and delivery of the BSc Sport and Exercise Psychology and modules across a range of programmes within the Institute with a psychology underpinning.As a Senior Lecturer your time will be divided between teaching, teaching-related administration, assessment, research and income generation activities. As part of the role you will be responsible for module coordination and placement supervision of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will be responsible for curriculum design, teaching and assessment strategies and preparing module materials including assignments and examinations papers, and will be expected to supervise honours and masters research projects.At Senior Lecturer level the post holder will be expected engage in the planning, design and leadership of teaching and research activity, and to be making wider contributions with partners and activity associated with the institute and the University. The postholder will ordinarily be expected to undertake programme co-ordinator duties and responsibilities.About youYou will hold a Doctorate in a psychology, sports or exercise-related discipline with eligibility for BPS Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership. Up to date knowledge of the area of sport and exercise psychology is essential for this role. You will also have proven Higher education teaching experience.About the teamYou will work within the team to strengthen the distinctiveness of the University’s student experience as high-quality, personalised, accessible and aspirational. You’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that is student-centred, inclusive and flexible.
