Its research is world-leading with particular strengths in digital healthcare, inclusive design, sustainable computing and responsible AI. As well as leading in research and teaching, the Centre runs the City Interaction Lab, a Digital Product Design and Innovation Studio, and has a key role in running a new VR/AR facility shared across the School of Science and Technology.ResponsibilitiesWe’re seeking a visionary leader to create and oversee a new Postgraduate program and associated short courses in Computer Science. You’ll be instrumental in elevating the profile of these courses nationally and internationally. As part of this role, you’ll spearhead broader educational initiatives, collaborate with industry partners, and supervise doctoral students in education/pedagogy. Additionally, you’ll lead student recruitment efforts, deliver high-quality teaching, and mentor postgraduate students. Your expertise in AI-enhanced design and immersive technologies will drive innovation within the school. Join us and contribute to shaping the future of Computer Science education.Person SpecificationWe’re looking for a qualified candidate with a PhD (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field, along with a strong track record of program leadership. Experience in creating new programs in UX Engineering or related technologies is essential, as is the ability to establish and oversee program-specific teaching and research laboratories. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of teaching students in Computer Science and related fields, as well as experience in developing wider enterprise activities, including industry collaborations.
