Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Neuro-ophthalmology and Strabismus

Applications are invited for three twelve months fellowship post in Neuro-ophthalmology and Strabismus in one of the largest provincial ophthalmic unit in the UK. This post is to commence 1st week of August 2025Candidates that are non-GMC registered at the point of application will be considered for this position, under the Trusts International Fellowship Scheme (please note, there is a £500 admin charge for this scheme). More information re this scheme can be found on our website – link in job description.The fellowship is based at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. The Neuro-ophthalmology firm has 3 consultant ophthalmologists – Mr Vishwanath, Mr Yagan and Miss Littlewood in addition to a consultant neurologist – Dr Zermansky. The unit is supported by a big orthoptic department headed by Mrs Veronica Greenwood, and an electrophysiology department headed by Professor Neil Parry.Main duties of the jobThe Fellow will participate in outpatient clinics undertaking diagnosis, management and follow up of patients under the care of the Consultants. He or she will undertake surgery both under supervision and, where appropriate, unsupervised.
