Applications are invited for three twelve months fellowship post in Neuro-ophthalmology and Strabismus in one of the largest provincial ophthalmic unit in the UK. This post is to commence 1st week of August 2025Candidates that are non-GMC registered at the point of application will be considered for this position, under the Trusts International Fellowship Scheme (please note, there is a £500 admin charge for this scheme). More information re this scheme can be found on our website – link in job description.The fellowship is based at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. The Neuro-ophthalmology firm has 3 consultant ophthalmologists – Mr Vishwanath, Mr Yagan and Miss Littlewood in addition to a consultant neurologist – Dr Zermansky. The unit is supported by a big orthoptic department headed by Mrs Veronica Greenwood, and an electrophysiology department headed by Professor Neil Parry.Main duties of the jobThe Fellow will participate in outpatient clinics undertaking diagnosis, management and follow up of patients under the care of the Consultants. He or she will undertake surgery both under supervision and, where appropriate, unsupervised. Qualifications and Training
Essential

• Medical Degree
• Completed post graduate training and obtained post graduate qualification in ophthalmology and experience needed for supervising other trainees in emergency department, alongside a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty
• Ability to see eye casualty patients independently and willingness to participate in general on call if needed
