Oversee all aspects of event planning and management, including identifying and working with a variety of external venues/facilities, negotiating contracts with vendors, and maintaining and managing event budgets.You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, the Code of Conduct, internal policies and procedures.You will lead, develop, manage and execute a variety of small and large internal and external events, as well as community engagement initiatives throughout the year.This is a high-visibility role, requiring the incumbent to collaborate across IS&C and the Cybersecurity Partnerships team to develop a robust talent engagement event process that enables seamless execution of the events and activities. The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of engagement event activities from strategy, budget, KPIs, planning and execution. In addition, the incumbent will manage vendors and agencies to help deliver and execute the activities. The environment is fast-paced, energetic, highly collaborative and very detailed oriented.Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Responsible for managing all aspects of IS&C and Cybersecurity Partnerships talent engagement events and execution, including promotional tactics, budget management, vendor and/or agency management, on-site experience and logistics alongside event agency, speaker selection & communication, agenda creation, presentation requests, feedback survey development, post event presentation, and more in a timely manner.
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Responsible for developing and executing talent engagement strategies aligned with IS&C’s and Cybersecurity Partnerships objectives, ensuring delivery of defined KPIs and Goals.
- Responsible for developing a three-year strategy and roadmap, defined KPIs and goals including a yearly calendar outlining all the activities including background details proposed for the year.
- Responsible for developing and maintain an annual detailed cybersecurity talent engagement budget.
- Own the cybersecurity talent engagement’s in-year strategy, positioning and key messaging and ensure it is disseminated across all channels and tactics as required.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and implement innovative strategies that improve the attendee experience and drive new pipeline for the business.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Global Communications, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations and Legal Team (as required) to ensure seamless integration of cybersecurity talent engagement initiatives and alignment with overall business objectives.
- Analyze KPIs and marketing data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Responsible for preparing executive-level event briefs and presentations that report on data-driven results.
- Manage, supervise, motivate, and mentor co-op/intern students, where possible, to assist with cybersecurity talent engagement activities.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
- You have 3-5 years’ work experience in employee engagement, communications, HR, relationship management, marketing, or related field, preferably with a financial services institution or financial services exposure
- You posses strong Relationship Management skills and ability to influence teams that do not report directly.
- You have strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat
- You have excellent communication skills: written, oral and presentation
- You have excellent relationship building skills with proven experience
- You have strong facilitation skills with knowledge of multiple delivery formats and approaches
- You have expert knowledge on how to structure content and employ technology to connect with the intended audience
- You have excellent persuasion and negotiating skills to build constructive supported solutions, often in the absence of direct decision-making authority
