Reporting to the Associate Dean, Student Success and Enrolment Management, the Senior Manager, Enrolment Strategy and Services ensures the integration of McGill’s and the School of Continuing Studies’ values, standards and goals into the Division’s and School’s polices, operations and procedures. With three management reports, the Senior Manager is responsible for the direction, budgeting and administrative operational oversight of front-line student service, admissions, registration, SCS scholarships and bursaries, examination scheduling, Destiny student information system, student accounts and student graduation verification and other related enrolment services functions. This position plays a key role in the strategy, development and implementation of a renewed and integrated multi-year student enrolment planning process (SEPP) and a revised student success and advising model.Primary Responsibilities:
Management, HR and BudgetOversee the Admissions and Convocation unit (Team of 12 employees), the Registration, Student Accounts and Clients Services unit (Team of 15 employees) and the Destiny (Student Information System) unit (Team of 4 employees)Make recommendations on financial and human resources needsDirectly manage a team of 3 professional and administrative staff and indirectly teams of 31 employeesCreate and offer opportunities for training and professional development for staffAttend senior level meetings and represent the unit at internal and external meetingsOversee the budget for Enrolment Strategy and Services, including budgets and financial expenses related to travel and recruitment activitiesCreate a positive, inclusive team environment within the SSEM division and across SCSStrategy, Planning & AssessmentLead development, tracking and reporting of enrolment-related key performance indicators for conversion and retention, with focused attention on identifying and leading the implementation of enrolment services’ related strategies for conversion and retention of students from under-represented groups or first-generation post-secondary studentsLead ongoing approach and implementation of an SCS-wide Student Enrolment Analysis Team (SEAT)Lead development and implementation of renewed structure for enrolment services, aligned with the new SCS academic structureCo-lead, with the Associate Dean, Student Success and Enrolment Management, the development and implementation of an SCS Multi-Year Student Enrolment Planning Process (SEPP) and Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) planningCo-lead, with the Senior Manager, Student Success and International Engagement, the design and implementation of new purpose-built Welcome Centre spaceProvides senior professional expertise in the development and implementation of SSEM strategic planning, key performance indicators, assessment methods, policies and standard operating proceduresAttend senior level meetings and represent the unit at internal and external meetingsEnrolment planningWork closely with Academic Directors on development, tracking and reporting of domain-level enrolment plans and progress and in identifying and finding solutions for enrolment services related issuesOversee the collaborative advancement and implementation of strategies to actively promote and improve upon student experience with a focus on personalization and digitization of services and alignment with SCS’ strategic plan and academic modelOversee the ongoing improvement and implementation of SEMM and SCS-wide approaches to support international and Indigenous student enrolmentWork with the Associate Dean SSEM on complex student enrolment casesEnrolment servicesOversee the ongoing improvement and implementation of the Modern Campus Destiny One SCS Student Information System, including acting as the SCS point of contact with McGill University and the vendor for operational mattersProvide operational direction to and lead a continuous improvement approach for enrolment services functions at SCSCollaborate with McGill Enrolment Services and IT on leveraging capacity, resources and practices associated with student enrolment services and student information systems functionsAdvance and oversee the integration of technological solutions that enhance student experience and support enrolment-related key performance indicatorsOther Qualifying Skills and/or AbilitiesMaster’s degree in a relevant field an asset. Experience in student enrolment services delivery. Experience in strategic planning and leading complex, multi-faceted initiatives and projects. Experience in nurturing successful relationships and cultivating credibility and trust among leadership, and internal and external stakeholders. Proven experience partnering with senior administrators and comfort in navigating a complex, organizational structures.Strong written and oral communications skills in both English and French. Ability to speak (an) additional language(s) other than English and French is an asset. Mindset on risk management. Ability to work in a fast-paced educational entrepreneurial environment, to adapt and be flexible to changing circumstances. Comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization.
