These strategies collectively aim to improve the overall safety, efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of the aviation industry by leveraging data effectively.IATA provides a wide range of aviation data solutions designed to support better decision-making across the industry. This includes access to data and insights in areas such as flight operations, air traffic management, safety, and maintenance, which helps improve safety and operational efficiency.As part of this journey, IATA has deployed the IATA Trusted Research Environment (TRE), a fully equipped and secured platform for the development of forward-looking models and advanced analytics.We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead the development and execution of data science and AI strategies to drive business growth and innovation. Reporting to the Principal Safety and Operational Analytics, the Senior Manager, Data Science and AI Solutions will be responsible for managing the roll-out of the IATA Safety and Operational Data Analytics commercial offering, which includes consulting activities, advanced projects with the IATA Trusted Research Environment, and leading the development of the consulting offering focused on advanced data analytics and AI solutions.What your day would be like

• Commercial Strategy Implementation: Implement the IATA commercial strategy associated with the IATA Safety and Operational Analytics and execute strategic business plans in collaboration with all relevant IATA stakeholders.
• Product and Service Development: Engage with clients and users to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions. Participate in the development of products and services associated with the IATA Safety and Operational Analytics, including services provided by the IATA Trusted Research Environment.
• Go-to-Market Planning: Develop an IATA go-to-market plan for the roll-out of the IATA Data Science and AI Solutions.
• Opportunity Identification: Identify commercial opportunities related to Data Science and AI in Safety and Operations, develop responses to expressions of interest/contract proposals, and negotiate projects in line with budgetary targets until contract closure.
• Project Management: Manage the execution and/or delivery of consultancy projects related to Data Science and AI in close collaboration with IATA data analysts, flight operations experts, safety experts, and sustainability experts.
• Financial Management: Prepare annual budgets and monthly financial projections; submit reports and regular updates on progress, accomplishments, financial status, and plans as requested.
• Research and Development: In close coordination with the IATA core team, participate in research and development activities related to Data Science and AI to benefit airlines and the industry.
• Promotion and Awareness: Participate in promoting the IATA Trusted Research Environment and IATA Safety and Operational Analytics offering at various events, conferences, and forums to generate awareness and increase the uptake of the commercial offering.

We would love to hear from you if

• Educational Background: Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in customer-focused Data Science and AI solutions, with a proven track record of meeting clients’ business needs through innovative technology and industry knowledge. Previous experience in the aviation sector is an asset.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of commercial aspects and experience in selling data science and AI solutions.
• Proven ability to penetrate targeted client accounts and establish deep, long-term relationships with client organizations.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in machine learning, statistical modeling, data analysis, and programming languages.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
• Project Management: Demonstrated excellence in project management.
• Team Collaboration: Effective team player with strong collaborative skills.
