Its more than 400 Postdoctoral Research students (PGR) are an integral part of the Faculty’s research environment, contributing to its vitality and innovative outlook.About the roleThe Senior PGR Manager is responsible for coordinating all PGR support across 11 departments and will work to support the community of PhD students and their supervisors, liaising across the College as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.The role holder will be expected to maintain up-to-date awareness of PGR considerations across the UK HE sector and to apply this knowledge in all that they do. They will play a key role in driving forward the continuous improvement agenda, improving processes, enhancing the PGR experience and developing effective new initiatives in line with Faculty and College Strategy. They will line manage the Senior PGR Officer and have oversight of the work of colleagues based in departmental cluster offices, working with Heads of Operations as well as the Associate Dean for Doctoral Studies. They will oversee the efficient and timely administration (including record-keeping) of the Faculty’s PGR funding schemes and provide proactive support for senior staff securing studentship funding. They will also oversee and coordinate where appropriate (in collaboration with the Doctoral College) any training and development opportunities for all PGR students in the faculty, including any CDT / DTP cohorts. They will act as the first point of support for all CDT / DTP teams.This post will be offered on a full-time, indefinite contract.About youTo be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:Essential criteria * First degree or equivalent work experience
