Together, we are EXP.Senior Project Engineer/ManagerBrampton, ONAre you ready to design your future?Be our next Senior Project Engineer/Manager!Your work environment at EXPEXP is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Manager to join its Building Science Discipline in our Brampton, ON office. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of building science technical work as it relates to new construction, assessment and restoration projects, including but not limited to the responsibilities listed below.What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Building envelope design review of the architectural drawings and specifications
  • Review of submittals, shop drawings, substitution requests and request for information
  • Mock-up review, plant visits and witness testing
  • Attendance of meetings with the Architects, Clients, Contractors and Trades
  • Assessment of building envelope assemblies in existing buildings
  • Report writing and review of reports from staff members
  • Design and preparation of construction documents for building envelope restoration projects
  • Preparation of specifications and drawings for rehabilitation and design projects
  • Conduct construction contract administration and construction review services
  • Liaison with clients, building strong client relationships, and generating new business
  • Project management tasks that include project set-up, project team assignment, project schedule and budget management, invoicing and collections.
  • Business development and preparation of proposals
  • Mentor junior staff

What your experience looks like

  • 10-15 years of technical experience in building science with proven ability to manage projects and help facilitate business development
  • University degree in a related field of study such as Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Building Science
  • Master’s degree would be considered an asset
  • P. Eng. designation in ON is an asset
  • Experience in façade assemblies including exterior wall and fenestration is required
  • In depth knowledge of various building envelope systems and assemblies
  • In-depth knowledge of standards and guidelines related to building envelope systems and assemblies
  • Knowledge of the NECB and energy standards
  • Experience in new construction and restoration projects
  • Experience in building envelope condition assessments, preparation of rehabilitation specifications and drawings, tendering process and contract administration and construction review services during construction
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required for site visits
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with clients and co-workers
  • Ability to work effectively in a high demand and fast-paced environment
  • An excellent team builder with the ability to motivate people
  • Leadership skills are an asset
