The result: a quality product that’s built right – the first time.Learn more about .About The Role:Axiom Builders is looking to add a Senior Project Manager to our three-tower over 40-storey tall development located in Surrey. This multi-purpose site is close to a skytrain and includes rental apartments, retail, and office spaces with over 1,300 units, including outdoor and indoor amenities such as dog parks, rooftop and outdoor patios, and a 5-storey underground parkade.The Senior Project Manager will provide overall direction for assigned projects and assumes responsibility for the overall project performance including costs, schedule, quality assurance and project status. This position involves subcontract negotiations, liaison with owners, consultants, and sub-trades, and management of the technical and financial aspects of the contract. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and oversee the end-to-end delivery of the assigned project by identifying project risks, developing project plans and implementing contingency plans;
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget and requirements, and complies with all regulatory, environmental and health and safety requirements;
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, resolving issues, managing client expectation, and ensuring client satisfaction;
- Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project;
- Ensure that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that quality standards are maintained;
- Develop and maintain the construction schedule in conjunction with project team to meet milestones and completion dates;
- Provide strong leadership to construction team members, capitalizing on individual and group strengths to ensure project targets are achieved;
- Maintain, tracks and reports all financial aspects of project including forecasts and billings;
- Manage the procurement process including subcontractor/trade/supplier negotiations and awards.
What You Bring:As a Senior Project Manager, your extensive knowledge and experience working on residential concrete as part of the general contractor will be a huge asset to our clients and your team members. You are polished, organized, teachable and have a strong business acumen. Most importantly, you are interested and committed to growing your career with us long term.Skills and Expeirence
- At least 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, working on residential and mixed-use concrete high-rise projects as part of a large general contractor; (a comprehensive project list submitted as part of your resume will be helpful);
- Certificate, diploma or degree in Building Technology, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or a related field;
- Proficient with project management tools, such as Microsoft Project and/or Procore;
- Possess leadership and motivational qualities with the aspiration to advance towards senior management;
- Ability to build and train a team to work cohesively for our clients;
- Strong relationship and network of sub-trades in the Lower Mainland;
- Strong communication – confidence and ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
- Experience with virtual construction and 3D modelling programs will be considered an asset.
