Senior Project Officer

Senior Project Officer
Based in TCV Jupiter/Grangemouth 9 month post full time
35 hours per week

The Conservation Volunteers connects people together to protect and restore nature.

About the role:

The Senior Project Officer will be based at Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre in Grangemouth. The post will facilitate a wide range of learning opportunities for local people so that they learn about and actively conserve the wildlife-rich habitat at our Jupiter space and in local community spaces. Activities include identifying species, habitat management, growing insect-loving plants and a wide range of vegetables, salad, fruit and herbs.

Our long-term programme of regular facilitated natural learning activities has multiple benefits for our volunteers. People feel happier, more connected to people and places, they learn new skills and they feel restored by the wonderful diversity of plant and wildlife that Jupiter protects.

Applicants should have experience of practical horticulture and environmental work.

Experience and understanding of working with volunteers and community involvement is also important.

We are happy to consider any reasonable adjustments that candidates may need during the recruitment process, and you will be asked whether you require any during your application. We are The Conservation Volunteers.

Our vision is Better Nature For All.

Our mission is to connect people together to protect and restore nature, delivering lasting benefits for both.

Since 1959, The Conservation Volunteers has been a charity creating opportunities for people to create, improve and care for nature in the green spaces around them across the UK.

Our variety of projects cover a bit of everything involving nature. Volunteers muddy their boots in parks, community gardens, woodland, sites of special scientific interest, nature reserves, schools and hospital grounds, helping create a glorious network of protected green space across the UK.

This work connects people with nature, and that connection delivers powerful results.

Join in, feel good.
