New Senior Quantity Surveyor position with a leading engineering consulting firm in Calgary, Alberta.By joining this employer, you will get the opportunity to work on some of the biggest and most exciting transportation and mobility projects around.Only candidates who are legally eligible to work in Canada will be considered.Project DetailsSenior Quantity Surveyor will be working on target cost and D&B design and build contracts and previous experience in administering both target cost and D&B design and build contracts either in Canada or in the UK is highly beneficial for this role.Project portfolio includes a range of exciting and challenging transportation, infrastructure and rail projects In Ontario, Calgary and New York.Experience of working on a project from inception to successful project completion is regarded as very important by this employer.Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead and manage commercial aspects of mobility projects
  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of service delivery to employers clients
  • Negotiating contracts
  • Provide post-contract Quantity Surveying services.
  • Assist in the mentoring and development of junior staff.
  • Prepare Estimates/Cost Plans/Tender Documents/Tender Reports
  • Work collaboratively with other service teams to provide an integrated approach to client delivery.
  • Managing client relationships and service delivery on a project-specific basis, with senior management.
  • Generating repeat business and new business opportunities/market opportunities.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5 to 15 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Cost Manager or in a similar position
  • Previous experience working on major projects
  • Strong commercial experience in post-contract and change control management
  • Previous experience on design and build projects would be ideal
  • Great interpersonal skills, an ability to communicate effectively
  • Client-facing skills
  • Able to negotiable
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to organise and prioritize work effectively.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Commercial Management or Project Controls or equivalent is desirable.
  • Professional qualifications obtained such as PQS or MRICS would be beneficial
