Senior Ranger Team Leader

Senior Ranger Team Leader
Bakewell, Derbyshire
£40,444 to £43,149 per annum

The Role

Are you an experienced countryside professional with a passion for leading people and making an impact in green spaces? We’re looking for a Senior Ranger Team Leader to oversee our dedicated ranger teams in one of the UK’s most cherished landscapes. This is a rare opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio of work across access, public engagement, and nature conservation, while helping shape the future of the UK’s original Ranger Service.

The post will ensure that our activities and partnership roles support the delivery of the National Park Management Plan, Authority Volunteer Plan, and Diverse Audience Plan. The post will continue to develop our joint partnerships with United Utilities and Severn Trent Water.

This role will report to the Ranger Team Manager. The post will be based at Aldern House with regular travel around the Park.

The job will include working 1 weekend in 4 and some bank holidays.

A driving licence is essential.

This position requires a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check with barred list checks.

About You

You will have proven experience of managing and developing people – including volunteers – and a track record of delivering high-quality engagement activities and practical conservation and/or rights of way work. You will have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, being comfortable liaising with multiple stakeholders, including water companies, private landowners, emergency services, and the public. You’ll have some budget management experience and an interest in continual improvement in various areas, for example volunteering, data monitoring and communications.

If you have the skills and passion to help us protect and promote this stunning landscape, we encourage you to apply.
