Interview date: To be confirmedWe are seeking a Senior Research Associate to join Lancaster Medical School and work on the ‘Socksess’ project funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPSRC) Research Council.The ‘Socksess’ project is developing smart sensing socks for people with diabetes to monitor their feet and help prevent diabetic foot ulcers and associated limb amputations.You will work with the project team to undertake gait laboratory testing in people with diabetes. You will be based in the Medical School at Lancaster University but will work closely with the project team at the Manchester Metropolitan University to undertake gait testing and other project responsibilities.The main responsibility of the role is conducting gait laboratory measurements and analysing biomechanical data in people with diabetes. The postholder will also support participant recruitment working closely with project partners at the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and contribute to data analysis, presentation of results and scientific dissemination.You will have (or be imminently completing) a PhD in biomechanics, gait analysis, the allied health professions or similar relevant discipline. You will have experience of operating relevant gait laboratory/biomechanics equipment and testing of human participants in this environment.Lancaster Medical School is based on the Lancaster University campus in the recently built Health Innovation One building.
