South Kensington Campus – HybridAbout the roleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, efficient and flexible Senior Research Group Administrator to ensure the smooth running of the Control and Power Research Group.The group sits within the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, a world-leading department in its field, with a reputation for excellence in both teaching and research. The department is part of the Faculty of Engineering and consists of approximately 750 undergraduate and postgraduate students and 200 staff.The post holder will pro-actively provide administrative support to the academic staff of the Research Group. This will include assisting with staff and postgraduate research students, as well as helping to manage active research projects. In addition, you will arrange meetings and seminars and receive visitors to the research group.What you would be doing
- Responsibility for coordinating all HR matters within the group and providing help and guidance to all members of the group.
- Supporting all stakeholders involved in all aspects of the post-award research management, providing efficient and helpful professional assistance throughout.
- Supporting all stakeholders involved in all aspects of the student lifecycle, providing efficient and helpful customer service throughout. Support the Postgraduate Manager in the administration of financing PG students.
- Proactive management of the space within the group in relation to physical allocation and planning of desks.
- Leading the administrative organisation of meetings, seminars and other events, including large-scale conferences.

What we are looking for
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience.
- Previously worked supporting others, performing secretarial tasks or in an administrative position.
- Proven competence of managing, analysing, reporting financial information and of effective record management electronic and paper files is essential.
- Good ICT Skills- use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and web management tools.
- Good administrative skills – Diary management, filing/maintenance of filing systems, servicing, minuting and managing meetings, attention to detail, time management. Proven numeric skills
