MED55525Applications are invited for the above role to provide technical support to 2 large research teams dedicated to investigating cell interactions and the molecular pharmacology of cell surface receptors. These teams are Cell Signalling and the Centre of Membrane Proteins and Receptors (COMPARE), both within the School of Life Sciences.The role’s responsibilities will include planning and running day-to-day requirements for the laboratories, allocating resources and providing technical supervision and training in the use of equipment and techniques. The role holder will practically contribute to ongoing activities across many methodologies (e.g. receptor-ligand binding assays, cAMP measurements, molecular biology, cell culture) and development and troubleshooting of any new techniques to extend the range of methodologies available to the research group.The role will be responsible for inducting new starters to the group and ensuring all local users adhere to Health and Safety guidelines and practices.The successful candidate will work in a team with academic and technical staff to support both groups in ensuring all purchasing, servicing and equipment repairs are coordinated and managed efficiently.We are seeking candidates that adopt a methodical approach to working in order to achieve work deadlines, have good communication skills and an understanding of molecular pharmacology, molecular biology and cell culture.The post is offered on a permanent, full time contract (36.25 hours).
