Who will you be working with? This role reports to the Engineering LeaderWhere is the position located? This is a full-time role based anywhere in AustraliaThe position specifically focused on the ongoing engineering, support and project delivery of the Wabtec portfolio of products.With broad recognition as a leader in condition monitoring systems and associated technologies, Wabtec systems are installed on freight, heavy haul and passenger rail networks across 20+ countries and 6 continents. Our IoT systems use leading edge sensor technologies to acquire data from passing trains. Valuable insights on asset health are then extracted from the data using a combination of edge computing, signal processing, and artificial intelligence (AI) methods.What will your typical day look like?Conceptualize, develop, test and implement new features in the data acquisition, processing and reporting software.Define, develop and document system level test plans and procedures.Contribute to the creation and upkeep of product documentation – design, engineering calculations, analysis and generating useful insights.Lead technical discussions with potential and existing customers to extract user requirements and drive new product initiatives and product enhancements.Provide detailed engineering design reviews for software disciplines.Prepare carefully considered customer facing responses to technical queries arising through projects and ongoing support agreements.Handle customer technical requests requiring in-depth data analysis, data science techniques, (L3 support escalations).Provide advanced troubleshooting and fault resolution on our deployed systems requiring a detailed understanding of our data acquisition and processing pipelines.Work to improve automated system diagnostics and implement improved diagnostic reporting from our products.Ensure compliance of our products to relevant local and international standards.Help define, implement, and drive our product roadmaps, and critically review the integration of new technologies into our product portfolio.Work with the service and support team to provide our customers with timely support and responses to their queries.Work with the Business Development team to support activities related to tendering, including technical assessment of tenders, preparation of tender responses and supporting presentations, as required.Help instill a culture throughout the Track IQ business in line with the Wabtec values of Safety, Customer Focus, Continuous Improvement, performance optimization, Teamwork and LeadershipHelp establish, improve and maintain quality control processes, systems and documentation.Support the Services /Support Manager and Customer Managers to resolve customer issues / queries in a timely and professional manner.Support Business Development Managers with technical inputs to tender responses and proposalsSupport Product Managers with technical inputs to product road maps and new product initiativesWhat do we want to know about you?PhD/Masters/ Bachelors in Computer Science /ECE/IT.., engineering or equivalent proven industry experience in Data Acquisition and signal processing12+ years of relevant industry experience and domain expertiseDetailed, in-depth understanding of SDLCStrong data analytics and signal processing expertiseAdvanced skills in the MATLAB programming platformExpertise and in-depth understanding in sensor/technology selection, Data acquisition systems, advanced signal processing, statistical data analysis software and methodsWorking knowledge – Conceptualize, develop, test and implement new features in the data acquisition, processing and reporting software.IOT concepts and E2E solutionsExperience in HLDs, LLDs level design, including the design of data acquisition systems and the selection and integration of appropriate sensors.Proficiency in coding /programming skills to conduct data analysis.Good hands-on and working experience (development of algorithms..,) through AI -ML/DL techniques.Broad multi-discipline engineering knowledge and expertiseExperience working with electromechanical and software systems.Experience working in the rail industry – asset condition monitoring, preventive and predictive maintenance knowledgeExperience in customer facing roles.Clear, effective communication and English language skills, both written and oralGood personal management, organisational and interpersonal skillsNegotiation and stakeholder management skillsCompetency in the installation, setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of software, electronic and mechanical systems.Competency in the use of Microsoft Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office suite of productsAbility to create formal documentation: e.g. information request responses, quotations, work instructions, product documentationThe ability to work under pressures of weekly, monthly and project deadlines.Customer
