Senior Sustainable Development Officer (Coast)

East Riding of Yorkshire Council

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of climate change resilience within East Riding of Yorkshire. Duties include working with communities, businesses, internal
colleagues and external partners to promote sustainable coastal management. You will also
support the delivery of mitigation and adaptation approaches to plan for, and respond to, the
impacts of coastal change within East Riding of Yorkshire.

Additional responsibilities include leading on the development and delivery of coastal
management policy within East Riding of Yorkshire and working at a national level to inform
Government flood and coastal erosion risk management policy. You will also actively support
residents and businesses to adapt to the impacts of coastal change.

You should be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject and have a good
understanding of coastal processes and sustainable coastal management approaches. Good interpersonal skills are also required as is experience of communicating with a range of
stakeholders.

Based at County Hall, Beverley for 37 hours per week however we offer a mix of office and
home-based working. There is also a requirement to travel to meetings inside and outside of
East Riding of Yorkshire on occasions.
