We are looking for an experienced occupational therapist with ideally Higher Educational Institute experience to support the delivery of our pre-registration BSc and MSc occupational therapy programmes.

The 1.0 FTE post is a permanent position, subject to a probationary period. We welcome applicants who are experienced clinicians, with practice educator experience and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as this role will be outward facing and have a focus on placement expansion. Alongside placement expansion you will be expected to support a range of physically focused teaching and learning experiences (e.g. neuro, anatomy and physiology), including marking, module leadership and personal academic tutor. If you are interested in the post of lecturer your active research interests must align with one of the Faculties research groups. 

Post 1:1.0 FTE Senior Teaching Fellow (Level 5) or 1.0 FTE lecturer (Level 5)

The job

You will be expected to contribute to the education and education /research priorities of the programme/faculty (dependent on role) and work with a range of external providers, with the support of the university placements team to ensure we have high quality placements, with sound governance, to provide our occupational therapy and other allied health professional students with an exceptional placement experience. 

Other tasks may include;

• Design and delivery of programmes including, session delivery, marking, examining and moderating
• supporting students on placement and presenting a positive image to all stakeholders
• providing pastoral student support and academic counselling as required
• Selection interviews and open days
• active involvement in student research projects and contributing to the REF
• quality monitoring and enhancement activities across School

You will be joining a vibrant and driven academic team, who are passionate about extending understanding in research, education, and practice to create integrated educational programmes unique to the Faculty and that make a positive difference to local and global health. You will receive support and line management from the Programme Manager. 

 The skills/experience needed

• HCPC registration and be a member of RCOT and the BAOT.
• Be an experienced practice educator
• Have some teaching / educational experience
• Educated to Masters Level (senior teaching fellow) / PhD level (lecturer)
