Senior Technical Specialist, Governance & Livelihoods, Liberia

  • Location: Monrovia with travel to project sites in the field and internationally where required
  • Salary: USD 48,570
  • Contract period: 2 year fixed term contract
  • Start date: As soon as possible

Fauna & Flora is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist, Governance & Livelihoods, who will lead the implementation of a rights-based conservation approach across Fauna & Flora’s target landscapes and projects in Liberia, ensuring that our approach to governance and sustainable livelihoods are effectively and consistently implemented across our landscapes. We are seeking a team player with strong interpersonal skills and sound technical knowledge and experience of developing and applying rights-based approaches in conservation contexts. In addition, you will be a highly collaborative and strategic thinker with proven experience in capacity building, project design, management and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL).

Working alongside the Country Director you will lead engagement with government, communities and other stakeholders, promoting rights-based and good governance approaches to conservation and natural resource management in line with global best practices. You will be confident in building and managing relationships with staff, partner organisations and community representatives and have the ability to work with multi-disciplinary groups. You will have a good understanding of the need for effective information-sharing, collaboration and learning, as well as a shared commitment to Fauna & Flora’s mission and values. You will have experience in applying your skills to a conservation, rural livelihoods and/or natural resource management context.
