For more information please visit https://www.se.manchester.ac.uk/.We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Technical Specialist (Robotics) to join our dynamic technical operations team, which strives to provide a sector leading technical support for FSE and the wider University. With a commitment to customer service excellence and a passion for science and engineering, the Senior Technical Specialist (Robotics) will provide an agile technical support service to staff and students to support teaching, research and professional services. FSE’s research and teaching quality is recognised globally; this is an exciting opportunity to join us in Manchester and contribute to the provision of a sector leading technical service.
- Working closely with academics, technical staff and students in the Faculty of Science and Engineering to ensure the safety, maintenance, security and reliability of specialist computer software and hardware systems for robotics research.
- Manage a team of Technical Specialists at both the Manchester campus and RAICo1 site in Cumbria responsible for supporting research and development of robotic and autonomous systems.
- Supporting academic staff, PhD students, PDRAs and others using specialist robotics hardware or software, including training and advising users where appropriate.
- Overseeing the health and safety processes and inductions in robotics laboratories within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
