Job description
You will act as a Senior Technician in Biological Science /IGFS with the responsibility for a specific set of major laboratories and associated space. This post is responsible for laboratories across a range of research teams and facilitating the day-to-day operation of general laboratory facilities, Health and Safety and related activities.This role will initially be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol, developing and implementing relevant systems.About the person:The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:
- Hold academic and or vocational qualifications e. HND/HNC or NVQ Level 4 in a relevant subject (or equivalent).
- Have 4 years technical work experience in a relevant laboratory to include:
- A senior role with significant responsibility for multi- functional laboratories
- Providing technical support for complex analytical techniques
- Development and or/implementation of standard operating
- Have experience of managing compliance to include undertaking risk.
- Have experience of providing health and safety guidance and advice to students and/or staff.
- Are competent in the use and care of a range of laboratory equipment and processes.
- Have a good understanding of Health and Safety regulations, Good Laboratory Practice systems and other relevant legislation.
