Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Technician in Bioautomation and high-throughput analytics to join our dynamic technical operations team, which strives to provide a sector leading technical support for FSE and the wider University. With a commitment to customer service excellence and a passion for science and engineering, Senior Technician in Biomolecular engineering will provide an agile technical support service to staff and students to support teaching, research and professional services. FSE’s research and teaching quality is recognised globally; this is an exciting opportunity to join us in Manchester and contribute to the provision of a sector leading technical service.
- Help to support the development of pilot projects, feasibility studies, protocols and training workflows across a range of biomolecular engineering programmes (e.g. protein, DNA/RNA and pathway engineering).
- Work with other multi-skilled technical and experimental staff from different technology platforms to help facilitate the biomolecule engineering workflow.
- Contribute to research and research-based teaching in biomolecule engineering, provide support to PDRAs, PhD students, technical staff and external users and ensure safety systems and procedures are kept up to date and relevant.
- Work closely with senior technology leads to support research projects and ensure the timely and appropriate flow of data and protocols.
- Support external industrial and academic users to help provide access to biomolecular engineering technology platforms and methodologies.
