Start: As soon as possibleThe School of Geography and Sustainable Development seeks to appoint a Senior Technician in Physical and Environmental Geography to provide technical and administrative support for organising, setting up and running undergraduate laboratory and field teaching as well as dissertations and research projects in physical and environmental geography while ensuring health and safety protocols are adhered to.Excellent organisational, technical and communication skills are essential for this post. You will be a strong team player with good interpersonal skills, a self-starter who is able to plan, organise and prioritise their workload in a busy and fast-paced lab and teaching environment.The School of Geography and Sustainable Development is well known for world-leading research and teaching in Environmental Change, Development, Population Studies, Spatial Data Science, Health Geography, and Sustainability. The School also has an outstanding reputation for high-quality teaching and was ranked fourth in the UK by The Guardian University Guide 2023, fourth by The Times Good University Guide 2023 and fifth by the Complete University Guide 2023. The School has 38 academic staff, 15 postdoctoral fellows and 42 PhD students, supported by two technicians and seven administrative staff.
