DBS0660 Senior Tree Inspector

North Tyneside Council is looking for skilled tree inspectors to join our dedicated team and
play a key role in delivering on the ambitions of the Our North Tyneside Plan. We are
recruiting 2 Senior Tree Inspectors: 1 Permanent and 1 Fixed Term for 2 years.
Under the general direction of the Tree Asset Manager, you will provide technical support to
the Arboricultural Team in the management of the Council owned tree stock. Your
responsibilities will include assessing and monitoring the health, safety, and sustainability
of trees across the borough. Working closely with residents, contractors, and colleagues,
ensuring that North Tyneside’s trees are well-maintained, safe, and continue to contribute to
the beauty and environmental health of our communities.
You will be expected to have a good level of up-to-date working knowledge and experience in the
identification of tree species and diseases. The ability to assess structural weakness, decay,
and pests and diseases with their significance and appropriate recommended remedial action is
required.
You will need to demonstrate the willingness to self-develop knowledge relating to tree safety,
risk assessment, tree health and other relevant urban forestry best practice. Additional
Training will be provided.

interpersonal skills with a positive approach to teamwork and co-operation. You will need to be
solution focused and have the ability to adhere to health and safety risk assessments and
operating procedures.
