The RoleThe RolePerform service calls and repairs of Fisher & Paykel and DCS major home appliances and outdoor products that are both in warranty and out of warranty in customer homes, builder work sites, dealer showrooms or warehouses, and other designated locations while providing a premium customer experience.You Will:

  • Enhance the customer experience through first time completions, product expertise and genuine interest in resolving issues.
  • Handle escalated service issues and assist with deficiencies in builder projects.
  • Focus on customer first.
  • Support returns department in performing in house rework repairs and processing through internal systems.
  • Initial startup in this position will be focused on learning and training within our workshop and working with the Regional Service Manager to gain a full understanding of our business.
  • Represent Fisher & Paykel with professionalism, a will do attitude and a sense of empathy and compassion.
  • Evaluate the products, determine the course of repairs, and provide an accurate estimate of such repairs to the customers
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
  • Develop and maintain superior product knowledge through all training media, service manuals, and training sessions
  • Complete all paperwork, forms, and other documents as they relate to service
  • Maintain and manage truck stock spare parts inventory to ensure first time completes
  • Research and order replacement parts required to maintain inventory
  • Collection of all monies due from the customer for service provided
  • Other duties as requested by your manager from time to time
  • Communicate openly with management in effort to create a continuous improvement business model.
  • Maintain all company issued equipment and ensure that it is safeguarded.
  • Meet or exceed company set metrics.

You Have:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license. Drivers abstract required.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Trade school certification or post-secondary education would be an asset.
  • Must have valid Provincial appliance service gas certification.
  • Minimum 3 year experience repairing major appliances.
  • Refrigeration, sealed systems experience.
  • ODP certification is required to perform work on refrigerant sealed systems. Fisher & Paykel will provide payment for renewal of certification if required.
  • Experience and ability in the use of various hand tools and equipment in order to perform repairs.
  • Meet physical requirements associated with field service such as continuous bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be physically fit enough to lift and carry heavy equipment. You may be required to crouch or squat to work on equipment for extended periods of time
  • Communication skills – strong verbal and written skills with the ability to actively listen.
  • Strong analytic and diagnostic skills
  • Computer skills – ability to use a computer or tablet and learn systems to perform required administrative duties.
