Sessional Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream in Computer Science (3 Positions)

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in the Lassonde School of Engineering at York University invites highly qualified applicants for three (3) Sessional Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream positions in Computer Science. These are Contractually Limited Appointments (CLA) to the teaching stream for three-year terms to commence July 1, 2025.

The successful candidates will be expected to serve as Course Directors for Computer Science courses. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach a strong subset of the following courses: Cryptography, Computer Security, Malware Analysis, Computer Graphics, Software Requirements and Design, Web & Mobile Programming, as well as Procedural, Object-Oriented, Logic, or Functional Programming. This position focuses on undergraduate teaching.

Candidate Qualifications:
Degree: A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field is required, either in hand or near completion by the appointment’s start. In exceptional cases, a master’s degree with a substantial record of relevant industrial or teaching experience may be considered as a PhD Equivalent. Undergraduate degrees in Computer Science or closely related majors with a relevant concentration or specialization will be considered an additional asset.

Teaching:
• A record or evident promise of excellence in teaching and dedication to students (e.g., teaching accomplishments, teaching statement, and pedagogical innovations including in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning, official student and peer evaluations, and letters of reference).
